The launch of Diagrid into the commercial realm marks a major milestone in the technology that drives Ignition Group’s business, as well as many other complex technology companies around the world.
Ignition Group has been partnering with the developers of Dapr since 2019 when Dapr was in Beta. So when they announced that they were in development of another unique, ground-breaking product in April this year, Ignition Group had no hesitation in once again getting involved from the early Beta stages. Since then, Ignition Group and the developers of Diagrid have been working in a close, synergetic partnership that has yielded a number of significant benefits to both parties.
“Dapr has become a mainstay in our business solution, so we had no hesitation in signing up for the Beta phase of Diagrid when the developers approached us to partner with them,” says Russell Stather, Ignition Group’s Chief Technology Officer.
“Because our business deals with millions of transactions a day across multiple verticals, we need our programs to be stable and agile, and give us the ability to identify and solve problems quickly. Over the past six months, Diagrid has proven to offer all of this and more, and we are proud to have been associated with the Diagrid team from the very beginning.”
“Diagrid is a very impressive product that is completely unique and brings many advantages to the back-end of our solutions. It has already offered significant value add to the existing ecosystem,” continues Stather.
This early adoption has paid dividends for both Ignition Group and Diagrid. By embracing Diagrid while it was still being actively developed, Ignition Group was able to request that certain specific features were added that they knew they were going to need. This synergy resulted in Diagrid adding features that they might not have thought of, or that would have been requested further down the line – this allowed Diagrid to present a broader, more feature-rich product at launch.
“Partnering with Diagrid while the product was being developed meant that every feature we need will be ready for us when we begin to pay for it, which means that we’re more likely to become a long-term customer,” says Stather.
Dapr with Diagrid now operates the entire back end of Ignition Group’s sales business, so every sale made goes through Dapr and is made visible by Diagrid.
“When we realised the capabilities of Diagrid, we also used it for our very advanced AI-powered payment system and it has proved to be incredibly well suited to that product too,” Stather says. “We have nearly 100 microservices in place supporting that, and we are now using Diagrid to monitor our production environment where we’re billing over a million transactions a month.”
Diagrid has also provided the backend to Ignition Group’s customer acquisition program as well as the processing of our customers’ orders from South Africa and the USA.
“There’s no doubt that Diagrid has delivered on everything we expected and more, and it is going to continue to help us achieve our 100% reliability of the platform over time by giving us visibility into the operation at a very low cost.”
Stather concludes by saying, “We’d like to congratulate Diagrid on an exceptional product, and we look forward to pioneering innovative solutions together for many years to come.”
