We are very proud that it is not just Ignition Group as a company that helps out, but also countless Ignitioners who give of their time and money to assist wherever they can. We actively encourage our employees to get involved in the initiatives that we run, from helping with events to raising money or helping out at a programme close to their heart.
Ignition Group has recently partnered with LIV Village, a world-renowned long term foster care facility for orphaned and vulnerable children. LIV stands for ‘Lungisisa Indlela Village’, meaning ‘The Right Way’, and the model gives vulnerable orphans a home village environment where they can grow up in safety with a loving mother, a village to raise them, a school to educate them, and a future to give them hope.
LIV is an organisation very close to our hearts, as it started just a few kilometres from Ignition’s own headquarters in KwaZulu-Natal. Like Ignition, it has grown from KZN to now have a national presence – the first village was built in 2011, and there are now villages in Durban, Gauteng, the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape.
We work with LIV by sending Ignition volunteers to the village on a project basis, such as painting a classroom or doing some DIY work, fitting in wherever we can help.
